The United Nations declared 2015-2024 to be the International Decade for People of African Descent. In honor of the occasion, the Friends of the James Brown African American Room and the Friends of the Hispanic Research and Information Center at the Newark Public Library are partnering to present a program designed to illustrate the need for Black Unity throughout the African Diaspora. The program also seeks to increase awareness of the presence of African-descendants throughout the Americas and of their common struggle against the White Supremacist System and United States Imperialism. The panelists will also address challenges to Black Unity.

Presented by The Friends of JBAAR and The Friends of HRIC
