GRAB & GO AT THE MAIN LIBRARY, 5 Washington Street
On a daily basis, Library staff will prepare packages of up to 10 requested items for pick up by cardholders. When these bags of materials are ready, we’ll give you a call to arrange for a pick up date and time. Materials can be picked up Mondays through Fridays, 10am-4:30pm and Saturdays, 10am-1:30pm.
- Request library materials to be put on hold for you. To make your request:

- Visit catalog.npl.org to make sure that the collections contain what you want. You can place your Hold in the catalog.
- Or you can call 973-733-7779 to give the staff
–your name
–your library card number
–titles of the items you want
–your phone number and/or email address
Don’t have a particular book, movie, or music title in mind, just a subject?—call 973-733-7779 or email reference@npl.org, and we’ll assemble a selection for you. Another option is to use this form: http://www.npl.org/readers-advisory/
- Once we have checked the shelves, we’ll contact you
- When you arrive to pick up your checked out items, call 973-733-7791, and staff will hand you that material when you enter the Library vestibule inside the front of the building.
Cardholders who prefer to use the branches can simply call or visit those locations. Find addresses and phone numbers at http://www.npl.org/community-libraries/.
Returns: You can return library materials in the bins located at the entrance to each location during library hours.
